The UFC announced the attendance for last night's UFC 104 event at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA and while it may not have been the biggest gate or a sold-out building, the event still drew a respectable crowd of roughly 16,000 fans for a gate of $1.9 million. The official numbers will be released later this week by the Calfiornia State Athletic Commission.
The number is down from the $2 million that UFC President Dana White had referenced prior to the event and while White had stated that around 3000 complimentary tickets had been issued for the event, there will likely be a rise in that number when the final tally is totaled.
The revenues will likely see a drop from when the UFC last held an event at Staples Center with UFC 60 in May of 2006 as the average ticket price of $196.41 for that event was nearly 40% higher than the $119 that was the average ticket price for last night's event. UFC 60 drew 14,765 people with 10,347 of those being paid.
